MSME COVID-19 Technology Showcase

New Delhi, India – AGNIi Mission, a programme of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, in collaboration with IamSMEoflndia, one of the largest & fastest growing MSMEs Network, hosted a Digital Technology Showcase on the focus sector of COVID-19 Technologies, on May 21, 2021. The AGNIi Mission actively engages with multiple industry associations and development institutes, to sensitize and showcase innovative solutions to their vast network of MSMEs, which they can manufacture and help scale up production, resulting in the availability of these solutions.

The showcase emphasized critical care equipment and technologies that will aid India’s COVID-19 emergency response. The following startups were invited to present their solution to IamSMEofIndia’s MSMEs network:

Blackfrog Technologies: EMVÓLIO is a patented rapid cooling technology that allows for the safe last-mile transportation of vaccinations, breast milk, blood serums, pharmaceuticals, and specimens with minimal freeze-thaw cycles.
Briota: Its SpiroPRO™ is India’s first CDSCO-approved handheld digital spirometer powered with ML based on demographic data obtained from Indian patients.
Vexma Technologies: Ventilation device for respiratory and pulmonary emergencies with emergency breathing assistance.
Oxyheal - Oxygen concentrators that use Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for treating chronic wounds.
O2Matic: A patented technology that produces instant medical-grade oxygen. There is no need for a power supply; this ensures continuous oxygen flow even when cartridges are being replaced.

Around 32 MSMEs participated in the showcase, and the innovators interacted with them directly to pitch their technologies and solicit feedback. The AGNIi Mission will continue to focus on connecting MSMEs to emerging technologies from India's innovation ecosystem.

MSMEs, India’s second-largest employment sector after agriculture, contribute 30 percent to the country’s GDP. They are critical in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. With the growing demand for critical equipment such as oxygen concentrators, ventilators, and personal protective equipment (PPE) for COVID patients, several MSMEs have turned their focus to producing this crucial equipment. The sector’s agility and dynamic approach to implementing technological solutions is a vital component in this effort to control the destruction caused by the pandemic.
