Taipei, Taiwan – Influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic, the global business model is rapidly shifting from physical to online activities. In this backdrop, Taipei International Machine Tool Show (TIMTOS), which is held every two years has launched a series of online activities highlighting both TIMTOS Salon and TIMTOS Glimpse
The TIMTOS Salon has invited Machine Tool Association representatives from the United States, Turkey, Russia, India, and Thailand, to share respective first-hand information and forecast future trends. It premiered on August 27, with Steve Kline, Chief Data Officer, Global Machine Tools, Gardner Business Media, to discuss the topic of Global Machine Tool Supply Chain Restructuring and Future Watch. He further analyzed the shift in demand for global machine tools, with focus on the status of the US and forecast of major application areas in the machine tool industry in the future.
The second episode of TIMTOS Salon was aired on August 31, with Fatih VARLIK, Chairman, TiAD (Machine Tools Industrialists & Business Association). This session reflected the current situation in Turkey. He shared share his views on increased import tariffs on Taiwanese machine tools by Turkey.
TIMTOS Glimpse, facilitated the exhibitors showcase their new product videos, with an interview video of Hiwin Technologies Corp. The TIMTOS Salon and TIMTOS Glimpse will subsequently release a total of three episodes per month from September to November, airing every 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Thursdays at 3.00 pm Taiwan time.
TIMTOS 2021 will take place on March 15-20 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1, Hall 2, and World Trade Center Hall 1. The organizer Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) will pursue market trends in organizing online versions to help exhibitors break social distance constraints and engage with global buyers.
