The product, Han 1A connector series from HARTING, won in the 'Product' category of 'Electrical Connector' discipline. The iF DESIGN AWARD is organized annually by the world's oldest independent design company, iF International Forum Design GmbH, headquartered in Hannover. The Han 1A has won from 7,298 entries from 56 countries and a 78-member jury, consisting of qualified experts from all over the world. The product is suitable for a wide variety of applications, beginning with machinery & robotics, logistics, railway applications, and other areas in which lightweight, highly versatile, and affordable connector solutions are required.
The Han 1A can be easily used in the field of machinery & robotics for efficient attachment of tools and modules including heating or cooling units, fans, control terminals, lighting systems, drives, and vibration conveyors. It is also best suited for use in areas where multiple small drives, sensors, and devices require a supply. In railway applications, it offers a compact connector series according to EN 45545-2, R22-24, HL1-3, IEC 61373- Cat. 2. The Modular system of inserts and accessories can be utilized for indoor and outside applications (IP20/IP65) for example, entryway systems, lighting, headlights, loudspeakers, screens, scoreboards, cautioning, and alert lights, push-buttons, wipers or sign generators.
