Multi-Tasking Machines

Murata Machinery, Ltd’s (Muratec) MT100 is an ultimate multi-tasker with two opposed in-line spindles. The MT100 comes with turning and milling capabilities combined in one machine. The machine can be configured with 2 or 3 turrets each equipped with 15 stations. The machine comes with a ‘Y’ axis on all turrets and has a Live Tool function on all stations. This offers flexible automation with bar work and chuck capabilities. Both spindles can operate simultaneously, and two turrets (two tools) can be used in a single chucking.

The programmer can utilize various cutting variations, enabling the use of two or three turrets with the Y-axis for optimal cutting processes in simultaneous turning and milling operations. The MT100 offers process integration, allowing the completion of tasks in a single setup. It can accommodate both small and large workpieces, with sizes up to 150 mm.

A large-sized bar feeder of up to 65 mm is as an option. Both 7.5kw / 11kw – 15kw (option) spindle drive motors are available. A high-speed 3-axes CNC gantry loader is available as an option which can serve as an additional advantage for non-stop production. The loader can help in handling heavier parts.

Suitable applications range from automotive to non-automotive industries, including Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Aerospace, Medical, Oil and Gas, Precision Engineering, and Die & Mold. Typical components include shafts, AC compressor cylinder blocks, parts for CNG fittings, and differential cases, among others.
