PUBLISHER’S NOTE

Dear Readers,

As the world’s largest democracy and a liberalized economy, India has been faring well in terms of economic growth. Reforms initiated by the Government, a positive business climate, and overall enthusiasm to excel are key factors driving this growth, with an estimated 8 percent GDP growth earmarked for the year 2024-25.

It is important to realize that in this journey towards a Viksit Bharat by 2047, the role of Indian manufacturing will be paramount in pushing the economy forward. It will be essential for the Manufacturing industry to adopt the latest technologies, innovations, and management techniques to remain competitive in domestic and international markets.  Doing so would also enhance productivity and help gain customer confidence in products and services. Collaborating effectively with stakeholders across the value chain and accessing new market opportunities as they arise will yield rich dividends.

The July-August edition of Modern Manufacturing India (MMI) focuses on medical machining and industrial metrology. An article by the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) will offer insights into the use of robotics in manufacturing.

IMTMA’s primary aim in publishing the MMI magazine is to give readers first-hand information to help analyze contemporary happenings in manufacturing and their impact on the economy. As you are aware, the success of MMI largely depends on the generous support of its readers, we would like to hear from you on how to improve further in our endeavor as we strive to achieve excellence.

Wishing you a joyful reading of this edition of MMI.
