ACMA Hosts Successful 3rd Farm Equipment & Implements Expo, Boosting Localization Efforts

Ludhiana, India – The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), the apex body of the Indian auto component industry, successfully hosted the 3rd edition of the ACMA Farm Equipment & Implements Localization Expo on May 21, 2024, in Ludhiana. With participation from over 60 prominent exhibitors, the expo garnered attention from dedicated B2B participants and industry stakeholders, fostering engagements between manufacturers and showcasing cutting-edge innovations in farm equipment and implements.

The prestigious event was inaugurated by Dr A S Mittal, President, TMA, and Vice Chairman, Sonalika Group. The event emphasized the vital role of localization in the Indian agricultural industry, showcasing a diverse array of products. Leading auto component and implement manufacturers from across the country, like Subros Ltd, JK Fenner, Tata Autocomp Systems Ltd, Steelbird International, and many more, demonstrated cutting-edge technologies designed to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability.

Vinnie Mehta, Director General, ACMA, said, “The 3rd ACMA Farm Equipment & Implements Localization Expo has seen an overwhelming response, underscoring our commitment to developing a robust, self-reliant supply chain in the tractor and implements industry. The Indian farm machinery sector, valued at US$ 16.73 billion in 2024, is projected to reach US$ 25.15 billion by 2029. By championing localization and leveraging government schemes, we aim to significantly reduce our dependence on imports and enhance our export competitiveness.

Mehta further added, “In the upcoming editions of the Expo, the Auto Component Manufacturers Association and the Tractor and Mechanization Association (TMA), in partnership, would like to have a strong presence of  international Agri-OEMs as business visitors in the show. This will be a step towards promoting the capabilities of our domestic industry for exports.”

The event attracted business visitors from OEMs such as Mahindra Farm, Mahindra & Mahindra, Sonalika, MRF India, and others.
