IG 150U for a Range of Tasks

CNC Internal Grinders

Established in 1973, Micromatic Grinding Technologies Ltd (MGT) has been manufacturing a wide range of external, internal, universal, and special-purpose cylindrical grinders in CNC, PLC, and hydraulic versions.

At PMTX, the company is showcasing its high-precision 3-axis CNC Cylindrical Internal Grinding machines that are ideal for a variety of internal, external, and face grinding applications.

IG 150U

The IG 150U is a high-precision 3-axis CNC Cylindrical Internal Grinding machine tailored for a range of internal, external, and face grinding tasks. It features a box structure cast iron bed for stability and damping, along with a fully enclosed guard for superior environmental control. Additionally, it offers a twin spindle application for grinding stepped bore of different ranges in one setup, a compact footprint with machine-mounted accessories for plug-and-play convenience, and a precision anti-friction work head enabling seamless change of work holding devices. Moreover, it supports automation with robot/gantry for enhanced productivity.

The External Wheel Head is equipped with a wheel head spindle running on high-precision multipoint hydrodynamic bearings to ensure rigidity. Additionally, optional high-frequency spindles are available, offering speeds ranging from 18,000 rpm to 105,000 rpm for enhanced material removal capabilities.

The Work Head features a spindle equipped with high-precision bearings for stiffness, incorporating an in-built hydraulic cylinder for clamping/de-clamping of the chuck to ensure vibration-free rotation. A gear mechanism with pneumatic lifting provision enables easy swiveling of the work head during setup.

The Internal Grinding Spindle has a belt-driven mechanism with speeds ranging from 7,500 to 35,000 rpm and offers grease-packed or air-oil lubrication. It can be driven through induction or spindle servo motor, with optional high-frequency spindles available.

Regarding the CNC System, the machine offers flexibility with FANUC, Siemens, or Mitsubishi CNC system options. It has an AC servo motor and drive and an inbuilt absolute rotary encoder. The machine cabinet and operator panel are mounted on the machine for plug-and-start operation, and an ergonomically designed operator console ensures ease of use.
