Dynemech Shock-Resistant/Vibration-Isolated Platform

VIP-AM-WA Series from Dynemech is a Vibration-Isolated Platform designed to provide top-notch compact tabletop vibration isolation solutions for vibration-sensitive systems such as measurement equipment and high-precision machinery that require pneumatic suspension with self-leveling arrangement, especially for difficult-to-suppress low-frequency vibrations.

The unique membrane air springs incorporated allow the platform to have superior load sensing and height-controlling element. They provide stable support to the precision measuring machines while minimizing the effects of shock and vibrations, ultimately enhancing the performance of the equipment. The membrane air springs used exhibit a low natural frequency in the range of 1-1.5Hz. The machine payload is suspended in the air through the flexible elastomeric membrane, damping most of the incoming vibrations.

The self-leveling arrangement ensures that the top platform always remains leveled during the load changes on top of the platform. The supplied air pressure may be varied depending on the weight of the equipment. 

A continuous air supply is needed to compensate for the load difference on the platform. The air is either added or removed from the air spring to maintain the level of the top surface.

Applications and features

The platform is ideal for all types of precision measuring and testing equipment that need to be installed in the high vibration zones including laboratories, manufacturing facilities, and research environments. It is well-suited for microscopes, balances, and analytical/inspection instruments. Granite and stainless-steel top surface versions find use in cleanrooms and honeycomb tops in optical labs. It has proven itself in biology, food testing pathology, IVF, and life sciences labs.

The platform’s key features include a low-profile design for constrained spaces. It provides 90-95 percent vibration isolation at 2 Hz and a maximum load capacity of 800 kg. It offers options for active and passive platform versions and can be customized with various top surface materials such as granite, low carbon steel, stainless steel, or honeycomb, depending upon the requirement of the application. It can be customized to accommodate a range of different types and sizes of measuring equipment.
