India - The New Age Makers Institute of Technology (NAMTECH), an education initiative of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), and Cisco Systems, Inc, an American digital communications technology conglomerate, collaborate to promote cybersecurity education in the Indian manufacturing sector.
In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of both companies, academic programs are being developed that will focus on specializations in cybersecurity, networking, and artificial intelligence (AI) training for manufacturing. This collaborative effort addresses the growing need for qualified professionals in cybersecurity and networking, particularly manufacturers trying to digitalize their processes or embrace Industry 4.0 adoption.
Cisco’s training modules will be incorporated into the offering from NAMTECH, that has matching existing programs, including the International Professional Masters Program (iPMP) and the soon-to-be-launched Professional Professional Technologists Program (iPTP). The partnership intends to train over 5,000 engineers and technicians in the next five years by establishing a cyber security center of excellence in Gujarat. The arrangement that has been presented during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 in Gandhinagar fully endorses India’s ambitious ambition to become a world leader in technology and manufacturing. The program also offers career opportunities within Cisco and its partner ecosystem, helping India become a technology-driven economy.
