IMTMA's 6th edition of “Symposium of Automation & Robotics” held successfully

Pune, India: The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) organized the 'Symposium on Automation & Robotics 2023' on October 5th and 6th, 2023, at the Hotel TipTop International in Pune.

The 6th edition of the Symposium featured interesting panel discussions and presentations by industry leaders from various sectors on automation and robotics.

Over 250 delegates from more than 80 companies across 15 cities participated in the Symposium. The exhibition, held alongside the conference, attracted visitors who had the opportunity to view the products and technologies on display, in addition to engaging in technical deliberations during the conference.

The symposium was inaugurated by Mr. Sunil Mehta, President of the Automation Industry Association, Mr. G. Sundararaman, Co-CEO of Wipro PARI Pvt. Ltd., Dr. Sadashib Padhee, Director of Samarth Udyog Technology Forum, and Mr. Rajendra Rajamane, President of IMTMA.

The topics of discussions and presentations covered artificial intelligence, automation, laser welding, sensors for Industry 4.0, robotics, machine learning for manufacturing, digital manufacturing, cobots, and the use of digital imaging, among others. The sessions highlighted new developments in human-centric automation.

Speaking about the symposium, Mr. Rajamane said that it was an eye-opener for the manufacturing industries to adopt automation and robotics in their everyday operations to improve efficiency and enhance the quality of products.

He emphasized that robots can be used to automate complex workspaces and mass-produce critical products in extreme manufacturing conditions. As the price of robots is decreasing, more industries are adopting them.

IMTMA has been supporting industries in developing indigenous industrial robots through the world-class Advanced Manufacturing Technology Development Centre set up at IIT-Madras in Chennai.
