LMW, founded in 1962, is one of India’s premier textile machine manufacturers and one of only three in the world to develop a comprehensive line of textile spinning machineries. Its value-driven machine tool division began its journey in 1988 to produce the finest variety of CNC machines. It teamed with Japan’s Mori Seiki Co Ltd to make turning centers and machining centers, and later, in 1995, they associated with Mikron Switzerland to produce high precision universal milling machines for tool room applications. LMW Machine Tool Division began developing its own capabilities in 1996 to design and manufacture world-class CNC turning and machining centers. High-precision mother machines, together with skilled people, result in high-quality goods.

World-class infrastructure

The company has made significant investments in manufacturing facilities, bringing technological expertise to the global market. A dedicated spindle assembly may produce spindles with speeds of up to 24,000 rpm. It manufactures belt driven, direct driven, and built-in motor spindles. Spindle run testing and spindle dynamic balancing are performed on these spindles. To ensure optimal precision, all assembly lines are dust-free and temperature-controlled.

LMW’s DNA is infused with quality and is represented in all aspects of industrial methods and services. The company uses cutting-edge testing and validation technology, and to ensure precision and high quality products, laser calibration of linear and rotary axes as well as spindle check inspection are used. It focuses on important market demand variables, including accuracy and long-term repeatability, reliability, cycle time reduction, low cost per component, and a high level of productivity. In the Turning center, Machining center, and Turnmill centers, the company now has 55 models and 88 types of machines, and it has a robust R&D department that focuses on innovation based on market demands. Machines must be easily configurable to meet the needs of various industries. The company has introduced products that are very compact, cost effective, and high speed, addressing the needs of small component manufacturers in industries with large volumes, such as the bearing industry. It also has items intended for the global market, which means the machines are state-of-art, with high feed rates, with rapids up to 60 m/min, and spindle speeds up to 24,000 rpm. The machines can also accelerate at 1G, implying that non-cut time is drastically decreased, resulting in faster and higher productivity. Furthermore, all the machines are IOT ready, and the company has a strong application team to provide solutions to its valued customers.

Services round the corner

On the operational front, LMW has launched a new customer portal for online spare part sales (e-commerce) and mobile Apps for customer engagement. The entire service activity is paperless or digital. The company has prioritized digitalization over the last three years. It has created a pan-India sales and service network that serves every industrial city in India. Machine Tool Division offers integrated solutions for diverse industrial needs such as Automobile, Aerospace, Die & Mould, Defence, Pumps & Valves, Railways, Medical Equipment, Forging, General Engineering, and so on. It also offers automation solutions such as basic loaders, gantry systems, and robots that are customized to match the needs of the customer.
