New Delhi, India – ELECRAMA, IEEMA’s largest stand-alone showcase of the Indian Electrical and Allied Electronics Industry, will take place from February 18-22, 2023, at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. ELECRAMA is the Indian electrical industry’s flagship showcase and a platform for connecting the world with the Indian industry in terms of technology, new trends, and innovation for future energy transition. The theme of ELECRAMA 2023 is ‘Reimagine Energy - For Sustainable Future’, and it will focus on showcasing innovation and future technologies in a variety of areas such as Storage, Green Hydrogen, Fuel Cells, artificial intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT). This edition will also emphasize sustainability by emphasizing Energy Conservation, Carbon Net Zero, and Smart Consumption.
Over US$70 billion has been invested in renewable energy in India over the last seven years. A brief look at the manufacturing sector’s contribution to the country’s GVA reveals that it has traditionally contributed 16-17 percent of the GVA. Given the COVID-19 pandemic and slumped demand, this fell to 14.4 percent in FY 21. Furthermore, the Electrical and Allied Electronics industry’s contribution to the manufacturing sector ranges from 6.5 percent to 7 percent and has remained relatively stable over the last five years. The country’s total equipment exports have grown at a CAGR of 11.7 percent over the last decade, while imports have grown at a CAGR of 2.4 percent. The contribution of electrical equipment exports to total exports has been consistent over the years, ranging from 2.8 to 3.1 percent. The year 2047 will see increased penetration of electricity in allied sectors, the industry’s pole position in future technologies, and leadership across the value chain.
The following actions can be taken to strategically achieve the 2047 Vision and 2030 Mission:
Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) is in talks with France and Germany about becoming a partner country for this edition of ELECRAMA. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has already been signed with Germany as a Country Partner for the World Utility Summit 2023. Significant collaboration is expected from UK, Romania, Portugal, US, South East Asia, Africa, and others. The event will feature global majors as well as small-scale manufacturers. It promises enormous opportunities for direct trade engagement with buyers and sellers, as well as the widest range of products and technology on display, with a special emphasis on the EV ecosystem-charging, components, battery storage value system, and green hydrogen.
R K Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Power & New and Renewable Energy, said at the launch of ELECRAMA 2023, the 15th edition of the world-class exhibition of electrical, industrial electronics, and allied industry in April this year, “We have brought great transformational changes in our industry in the past five years. We are committed to a climate-friendly, aggressively going ahead with our Hon’ble Prime Minister’s belief in ensuring a healthier planet. We aspire to become a five trillion-dollar economy, and we are one of the fastest-growing economies in the World.”
According to Vipul Ray, President, IEEMA, “The energy transition currently underway is propelling electricity as a dominant form of energy. There is a huge business potential riding on the increasing relevance of EVs, Charging Infra, RE and Green Hydrogen, and Energy Storage. The transition of the transportation sector from the fossil fuel-driven to the clean energy-driven would be a key to the energy goals of the country. The upcoming 15th edition of ELECRAMA 2023 will mainly focus on such opportunities and position India as the fulcrum of futuristic technologies and solutions required for achieving sustainable growth.”
