New Delhi, India – Kia India, the country’s fastest-growing carmaker, has surpassed another milestone by recording 1 lakh vehicles in exports, since it started shipping Seltos in September 2019. In less than two and a half years, the company reached this significant milestone, demonstrating its commitment to developing India as an export hub. It exported Seltos and Sonet, the true embodiments of Indian quality standards, to 91 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, Mexico, and Asia-Pacific. Seltos and Sonet currently account for 77 percent and 23 percent of total exports, respectively. The brand additionally customized its shipping units to meet the needs of the export industry, making it a one-of-a-kind offering.
The company has exported a total of 1,01,734 vehicles since its inception till January 2022. In CY2021, the company shipped 46,261 units, a 23 percent increase over the previous year. Kia India also became the country’s top UV exporter, with a market share of more than 25 percent. Furthermore, the brand came in third place in the overall PV segment, with a market share of nearly 9 percent.
The achievement signifies that Kia’s ‘Make-in-India’ vision has not only assisted the company’s development in India but has also proved India’s manufacturing prowess.
