Mumbai, India – Fokker Elmo SASMOS Interconnection Systems Ltd (FE-SIL), a Joint Venture (JV) between GKN Aerospace and SASMOS HET Technologies Ltd, based in Bangalore, India, has bagged a multi-million dollar contract from the Swedish defense and aerospace group Saab. FE-SIL will manufacture the Electrical Interconnection Systems (EWIS) for the Boeing-Saab T-7A trainer aircraft aft-section in the advanced jet that will train the next generation of fighter and bomber pilots.
The T-7A trainer aircraft is produced by Boeing, the world’s largest aerospace company, in collaboration with Saab AB, and is designed to meet the military’s future pilot training requirements of the US Air Force.
FE-SIL will deliver the required wiring systems for the advanced aircraft’s aft fuselage under the multi-year contract. This contract will strengthen FE-SIL’s relationship with Saab and Boeing by providing them with cost-effective global solutions. The first EWIS ship-set is expected to be delivered in 2022 by FE-SIL’s Centre of Excellence for Aircraft Harnesses in Bangalore.
