Mumbai, India and Marietta, USA – Birla Carbon, a leading global supplier of carbon black and one of the flagship businesses of the Aditya Birla Group, a leading Indian multinational conglomerate, has appointed John Loudermilk as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Birla Carbon, effective August 1, 2021. He will oversee all aspects of Birla Carbon as CEO.
In his previous role as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Loudermilk was instrumental in shaping Birla Carbon’s vision to be the most respected, dynamic, and sustainable global carbon black manufacturer through increased focus on customers and innovation in a manner consistent with the company’s purpose to ‘Share the Strength.’ He has played a key role in many of the company’s recent initiatives, including the launch of the CONTINUATM brand of sustainable carbonaceous materials, and he remains committed to operational excellence as an important component of the company’s future success.
Loudermilk has over 30 years of experience in the chemicals industry, including 16 years in the carbon black business and over 10 years with the Aditya Birla Group. In 2005, he joined the carbon black business as Director, Global Operations. He was named Vice President, Global Operations in 2008, with responsibility for global manufacturing facilities, corporate engineering, quality, and six-sigma. He also took over as Regional President of the North America business and led the Technology and Strategy efforts. In 2016, he assumed additional responsibility as President of the Europe and Africa region, and in 2017, he was appointed COO.
